If you are in need of a hearing aid, don’t settle for the first one you see and don’t let yourself be persuaded to buy one just because a salesperson tells you it’s the best.
The most objective source of information you can get is a consumer report hearing aids review.
These, too, may not all be objective. Many websites that advertise themselves as being for consumers are really only there to sell a particular product.

Question by All-British-Reject: hearing aid joke =]?
Having lost most of his hearing a number of years ago, this elderly man goes to the doctor to be fitted with hearing aids which promise to allow him to hear 100%. A month later, he returns to the doctor for a check up on his progress. The doctor tells him that his hearing is perfect and asks if his family is pleased.
The man says, “Oh, I haven’t told them about the hearing aids yet. I just sit around and listen to them talk. I’ve changed my will three times!”

Hearing Aids Online – Tell Me a Story: Early Treatment for Hearing Impairment Pays Off
Olivia LaRosa was born with hearing impairment. From the moment she began making babbling sounds, her parents brought her to Cincinnati Children’s for treatment. Early interventions with hearing aids and speech therapy worked. Her case is an example of why the state passed a law to screen every baby’s hearing, something that was not routine 18 years ago. Today, more families benefit from early detection of hearing loss. And more people are following the LaRosas’ lead of being diligent in following through with treatment that can change the outcome.
Question by vengeance101: How much is a monthly Blackberry bill with Sprint?
I need to know how much a monthly Blackberry mobile phone bill is with Sprint. My contract is about to end with at&t and I and going to Sprint. My dad pays my phone bill and he is concerned about the monthly bill. I would get the unlimited everything plan for .99. Also, do you have to get the Blackberry plan with Sprint? He said he will pay .99 for the unlimited everything plan. Also, I have heard if you work at Rite Aid, you can get a discount; well my mom works at Rite Aid could I still get the discount if I do not work there, but my mom does? I really need to know what the monthly statement would be so I know if I can get that phone.

Answer by ANDROID
Hi.A data plan is required for the phone. No way to get out of that.I believe the data plans start at a month. Plus you add on minutes. The cost for that depends on how many minutes you want. The more you want the more it’ll cost. Sprint does offer an employee discount. You’ll have to check Sprint’s employee thing to see if you qualify for it (it’s on Sprint’s web site).

Question by Me1984: Loud N Clear Sound Amplifier question from infomercial?
The other day I saw an infomercial for a product that amplifies sounds, and you can hear a conversation from across the street. Does the Loud N Clear sound Amplifier actually work? If I am listening to one person, will it pick up well, or will I get distracted by other voices and sounds? I’m 24 and have difficulty hearing sometimes, so would this be a good alternative to a hearing aid? If there are any other things similar to this that are cheaper than hearing aids, so I can be able to hear better, please give me some advice.

Answer by addison1977@rocketmail.com
It will amplify all sounds equally. It may have have built-in EQ to focus on mainly voices etc, as it were, but no, it wont “zoom in” on sounds across the street etc. To do that, you need one of the satellite looking listening devices you see the FBI using in movies etc (a “parabolic reflector”. Or a “shotgun microphone”, which this is not. I’d say that if you wanted to concentrate on just one person, you could still do that, as our brain has the ability to “filter out” to a degree the sounds we’re not interested in, and concentrate on the one we are. Yeah, it should work for general life, and if you really don’t want a hearing aid, then this could do the trick, though I’ve never used one.
